Fruitful Yield Store- South Elgin Elwood Richard, founder of NOW Foods , named his first retail store Health House in 1964, when the health food movement was still very young and not recognized as a bona fide industry.
In 1972, Elwood and his two brothers, Lou and Bill, chose the name Fruitful Yield as a unique and positive description of the business.
Since that time, Fruitful Yield has experienced steady growth in store size and number.
Today, we have 13 stores averaging over 4,000 sq.
ft.
selling space and leading the Chicagoland suburban natural foods market.
Elwood and his family remain the sole owners of Fruitful Yield and we are proud of our stores and influence on healthful living.
Our stores are known for high quality standards, helpful and educated staff, wide selection of products and everyday below-retail pricing.
Greets customers on sales floor; determines brand, type, and quality of merchandise desired; and assists customers to locate merchandise.
Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality and utility.
Acts as cashier using POS system.
Prepares sales slip or sales contract, receives payment or obtains credit authorization, and bags merchandise for customer.
Lists out-of-stock items or special customer needs on need notes or in order books.
Places new merchandise on display; stocks shelves neatly according to product type, brand and size.
Rotates stock and checks for outdated goods.
Prepares and maintains inventory of stock.
Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming products to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications and checks for damage or infestation.
Compiles reports on adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusals of shipment.
Determines methods of storage, identification and stock location (considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space) and stores articles in appropriate locations according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
Assists with maintaining a clean store (i.
e.
sweeping, mopping, washing windows, cleaning restrooms).
Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
