Responsibilities:
Assist their Employee Health peers with important clinical duties including but not limited to Fit testing, vaccine clinic support and minor first aid.
They may also assist with central team functions as needed.
Provides instruction on PAPR use when necessary Provides on-site fit testing Reports out at the site safety huddle providing pertinent employee health injury updates and other necessary situational awareness Works closely with the PSA RN to assist all team members within their assigned site.
Assists PSA RN with implementation of injury actions plans Prepare and administer vaccines/medications as needed Document patient information into the electronic health record Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or GED Graduate of a medical assistant program or at least two years of medical assistant or equivalent experience within the last five years.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Good communications skills.
Experience using a keyboard and computers.
Familiarity with equipment used in ambulatory care Current AHA CPR certification Ability to travel locally to multiple sites as needed Ability to work in stressful conditions and difficult situations Resilient and flexible in a changing environment Ability to cooperate and work with others Ability to make sound and timely decisions and ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
