We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage the food production operations, warehouse, quality, and maintenance in our fast-paced automated facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of food production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires a strong leader with a solid background in maintenance, quality, warehouse, OEE, LEAN manufacturing principles, automation, food safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, team building, and P&L management.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of food production, including maintenance, quality control, warehouse management, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement and manage LEAN manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety standards, including GMP, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Develop and implement strategies for automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage P&L for the food production department, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align operations with company-wide goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze OEE to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Ensure the warehouse is managed effectively, with a focus on safety, organization, and inventory control.
  • Promote a culture of food safety, ensuring all operations adhere to best practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in food production, preferably in the engineering industry.
  • Proven experience with maintenance, quality control, warehouse management, OEE, and LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including GMP, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Experience with automation in a food production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team, with a focus on team building and performance management.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in P&L management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
